Spore is a God simulator from Maxis, where the player is given the opportunity to control the development of the creature from the cellular level to space exploration. The project combines elements of real-time strategy and role-playing game.
The game features many different biological species. Their presence begins to be traced back to the primary broth (hostile cells look different), continue at the “Creature” stage (other biological species that you have to interact with in some way), “Tribe” and “Civilization”.
More developed species are always present in the game. At these stages, the player will occasionally encounter aliens: either they abduct someone using a beam, or they simply fly by.
At the “Cosmos” stage, you will meet with representatives of various civilizations and even enter into alliances with them.
The first meeting
Contact with Groxes in Spore will occur after an attack on someone else's planet. The starting attitude of these creatures towards the player is always “war”. But in fact there is none, although one shot in their direction will correct the situation not in the best favor.
The reason lies in the nature of this race. Groxes are very weak creatures, therefore they survive only thanks to phenomenal intelligence and developed technical thought.
Grox implants allow them to forget about their weakness and consider representatives of other races unworthy even of hatred, because the only acceptable way of life of these creatures is war. Inhabit unplanned planets with an atmospheric index T0.
As for religion, they believe in the unknown future god, for whom they guard the Center of the Galaxy.
How to destroy the Groxes
In Spore, the war with this race is very long and exhausting. For the reason that the enemy empire occupies 2,400 planets, and approaching the Center of the Galaxy reduces the distance for interstellar flights.
When the autoblaster is on and the allied ships are present, skirmishes with groxs will occur from one interstellar jump to another. It is recommended to capture their planets and change the atmosphere from T0 to T1 to prevent hostile cyborgs from recapturing the world.
For destruction, the player will receive the achievement “Eradication of Evil” and +200 to the ratio of all space empires (green smiley). There will be an opportunity for unhindered access to the Center, where a meeting with Steve is expected.

How to make friends with Groxes at Spore? The answer is simple. But this decision has its consequences. It is easier to make friends with warlike mechanoids than to try to completely exterminate. But in this case, you will have to sweat pretty.

- Therapeutic kits.
- Five gigadetonators.
- Adhere to the philosophy of "Fanatic."
- Carry funds in the amount of 1,000,000§.

When a friendly empire sends a help signal, notifying of a Grox attack (first contact), you must either ignore the message (then you will be able to maintain neutral relations), or fly to the planet, but do not engage in battle with the mechanoids. You cannot steal artifacts from their planets (only quest quests are allowed). To establish friendly relations with such a hostile empire, you need to act as follows:
- Give a bribe to the Groks to improve relations with them.
- Receive quests from them and complete.
- Periodically process a ray of happiness.
- Blow up or irradiate a gravitational wave of 4-6 planets that do not belong to the Groxes.
- Enter into a Trade Agreement, and then a union.
The effect will be very unexpected: all previously friendly empires will immediately become hostile, their reputation will decrease to -200 and a war will be declared. As a reward, the player will receive the “Game with Fire” sign and the Grox ship, which has 3600 health.
Modification to the Grox part
In Spore, you cannot create these creepy creatures in the editor. All due to the fact that it works on the basis of symmetry. They are the only asymmetric creatures in the game. Therefore, without a special mod for Groxes in Spore, they cannot be created.

Groxes in Spore are the most hostile race. Rumor has it that the developers borrowed an image from A. Douglas’s Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book. In the novel, the Wogon civilization destroyed the Earth in order to make room for a jump into hyperspace.

A mod that allows you to create a representative of this race does not correct the situation in the Galaxy. That is, these creatures will still be hostile to the player.
