Acclimatization in a child: how to travel without problems?

As they grow older, it is much easier for a person to adapt to changing weather conditions, altitude, temperature, pressure, and so on. But acclimatization in a child can sometimes be quite difficult.

child acclimatization

As a rule, symptoms appear on the first day, as soon as the family arrived in another place. First, weakness suddenly arises. Also, the baby may have problems with sleep, irritability and moodiness. Often, acclimatization in a child is accompanied by headaches. Less often, children have a fever and a sore throat, which is very similar to the symptoms of a common cold. And in some babies, acclimatization manifests itself as a violation of the digestive system: the child loses his appetite, his stomach hurts, and unexpected nausea and vomiting can occur. Most often, this occurs as a result of a reaction to a new, unusual local food.

On average, the process of acclimatization in children takes about 7-10 days. As your child grows older, this period will be reduced.

Nevertheless, acclimatization in a child should not be an obstacle to a full family vacation. The main thing is to know how to help him quickly adapt to unusual conditions.

acclimatization of symptoms in children

If you go to hot countries, on the sea coast, in the very first days upon arrival, the baby should not swim in the sea. Do not spend too much time in the sun. Almost on every modern beach you can find special dosimetric tables. There you will see information on what periods of time and how much a child can swim and sunbathe in these climatic conditions. It is also desirable that the baby is always dressed in products made from natural fabrics. Before the trip, you definitely need to purchase a parasol (they are already installed on some beaches) and specialized sunscreens for children. Do not overfeed the child, especially when it comes to unusual national cuisine. In addition, it is important to prevent dehydration. The child should drink a sufficient amount of mineral water and juices, but in no case sweet sugary drinks.

As for traveling to countries with a cold climate, sharp changes (from summer to winter) should be avoided here first of all. You must take comfortable warm clothes with you. Acclimatization in a child in this case also requires an increase in the number of calories consumed daily by 10-15% in comparison with the usual diet. Before the trip, you should enter in the menu of your child a large number of berries and fruits (in particular, currants, pomegranates, cranberries are very useful). Food should be rich in vitamins A, C and E. Immediately upon arrival it is better to put the child to bed so that he can feel the temperature change, already being rested and amassed.

acclimatization in children after the sea

A frequent occurrence is also acclimatization in children after the sea, more precisely, re-acclimatization. After returning to their native places, the child's body begins to rebuild again. Moreover, this process is much more complicated than after arriving in another country. That is why experts do not advise immediately sending the child to kindergarten, school or to classes in the sports section. It is better if he stays at home for a few days. Then you can control his well-being.

It should be understood that adults also encounter such a thing as acclimatization. Symptoms in children are more pronounced, but if you follow all the recommendations of experts, you will help your child cope with this, and family vacations will be excellent.
