Story

A specific envelope for sending papers is such a definition of an envelope. His appearance in the late nineteenth century, humanity owes to the English paper trader from Brighton - Mr. Brever. A romantic legend says that the “clothes” for writing appeared because of the urgent need of some windy women to hide from their husbands correspondence with lovers.

envelopes with window sizes

Envelope with a window for mail forwarding appeared much later. There are holes in the shape of a rounded rectangle, but a strict geometric figure looks more aesthetically pleasing.

All packages are divided into groups according to several basic characteristics:

  • according to its purpose:
  • format (size):
  • gluing option:
  • design of the front side - an envelope with or without a window;
  • the presence of a printed address grid;
  • the location and shape of the valve;

At the same time, the envelope with the window is used quite widely:

  • to forward letters;
  • storage of documents;
  • distribution of image products;
  • disk packaging;

For mail shipments, an envelope with a transparent window can be of different sizes. But for all, the recommended hole size is 4.5x9 cm, and there are rules for placing it on the package. They depend on what format the envelopes with the window have. Indent dimensions (with a standard window layout):

  • on envelopes C4 (229x324) - 5 cm on top and 1.5 cm on the right.

Manufacturers produce such products where the hole can be located in any part of the front side. Indents from the edge of the envelope of 1.5-2 cm are observed. There are packages with large panoramic windows - they are more used for advertising purposes.

Envelope with a window is great for mass distribution of promotional products of the company. In such envelopes you can send business and corporate correspondence. Invitational or congratulatory messages look spectacular, with colorful drawings in place of transparent windows.

It is interesting

The study of ancient cultures revealed a curious fact. It turns out in the third millennium BC, people were concerned about maintaining the secrecy of correspondence. Resourceful Assyrians thought of putting another layer of clay on the clay tablet over the main text, they wrote the name of the recipient on it. Then the plate was re-fired, and a kind of cover was obtained. The recipient broke it and could read only the addressed message to him.

Birch bark in Ancient Russia served instead of paper. Messages were curled up, tied up with a ribbon with the address of the recipient.

And the concept of urgent letters was known back in the eighteenth century. To mark it, small bird feathers were put under the wax seal.

In the nineteenth century, the British used colorful envelopes for different days of the week.

envelope with a window

The form of modern postcards was proposed by the German postal general director Heinrich von Stefan. He pointed out the inconvenience of ordinary writing, which was not simple and concise. It was with his filing in 1869 that the first postcards appeared.

An envelope with a window was probably invented by someone lazy. Writing an infinite number of addresses when sending out promotional products is a boring exercise. In addition to saving time, errors in investing also come to naught - it is simply impossible to mix up the addressee.
