World Teachers' Day is an international and significant holiday for every person on the planet, because almost all of us owe these skills, knowledge and achievements to these people, teachers. And since education throughout the world has become compulsory, illiteracy has been declining, and the need for trained professionals has been growing, and teachers have become not only respected people (though they have always been like that), but also very much in demand.
When is Teacher's Day celebrated? The date in our country is fixed - it falls on October 5th. This day was officially approved by UNESCO in 1994. It is not an official holiday in the country, but it is always celebrated in all educational institutions. This has been the case since 1994, although earlier, since its foundation as a holiday, World Teachers' Day in the USSR was celebrated on the first Sunday of the second autumn month. So, by the way, it is still celebrated in countries such as Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Moldova. But the Uzbeks decided to postpone their day of honoring education workers to October 1.
This applies to the CIS countries. When is World Teacher's Day celebrated in the rest of the world? On most of the planet, it is still celebrated in the fall, because in the Northern Hemisphere this is the time when the school year begins. In India, for example, teachers are congratulated on September 5, the day Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born - a famous philosopher, a native of this country. And in Argentina, this holiday is timed to coincide with the date of death of another prominent person - Domingo Faustino Sarmento, a teacher, politician, public figure. And the Argentines celebrate it on September 11th. And in Taiwan, World Teachers' Day is celebrated on September 28th. On this day, the great thinker Confucius was born.
Special among the fall celebrations are teacher days in countries such as Albania and Korea. In the first, this significant date is celebrated on March 8. But the Koreans honor their teachers on May 15.
What are the features of the holiday in question? Teachers are the main vehicles for children in the adult world. If parents, environment, friends form the character of a person, instill basic communication and behavior skills, then the teacher’s work is much finer. Teachers instill in children a love of information, a desire to know and understand more. This is their main purpose, their feature and value. That is why every year in almost all countries of the world special events are held, the main purpose of which is to pay tribute to teachers. It can be special concerts with the participation of prominent artists or, conversely, young talents. Also on this day, often amateur performances are held in schools, demonstrations of the best students in various fields are organized, and olympiads and competitions are held. And the best gift for any teacher would be a victory in such competitions of his student. Children prepare gifts, bouquets, cards for their teachers.
Wishes for Teacher's Day can be very different, the main thing is that they be sincere, coming from the bottom of the heart. Often they begin with words of gratitude for such a hard work.
