At such moments, you realize how good it is that smart people came up with means to fight mosquitoes and other insects. To date, the range of such drugs is quite wide: sprays, creams, plates, liquids, pencils, emulsions, sound repellers, mosquito coils. The price of all these devices is different, but much more important - the effectiveness of their action.
Mosquito coils: the best insect repellent outdoors
The mosquito coil is a fumigant tool that, unlike repellents that repel bloodsucking insects, not only doesn’t let you get annoying mosquitoes and midges, but kills them, providing you with reliable protection and comfort for a long time. This is the best way to get rid of mosquitoes where there is no source of electricity: on a camping trip or fishing, on a picnic, in an open gazebo.
Mosquito coil: mechanism of action
When a spiral is ignited, smoke begins to be released, and with it, particles of the active substance, allethrin. The insecticide destroys not only mosquitoes, but also other flying insects nearby: midges, mosquitoes, biting midges, wasps, and smoke repels them, preventing new insects from flying into the coverage area of the product. One mosquito coil lasts from 7 to 10 hours, while most bloodsuckers die during the first 15-20 minutes of the device.
Mode of application
In order for the mosquito coil, "Raptor" for example, to start working, you need to perform a number of actions:
- Bend the stand on a special metal stand. Then you need to fix the spiral on it.
- Place the stand on a non-flammable surface. Then you need to set fire to the product and blow out the flame so that the mosquito coil continues to smolder.
So, if you stay late at a table in the open air, just install one spiral at the corners of the table - and the problem of annoying insects will be solved.
Precautions and contraindications
Of course, the spiral is an effective tool for combating blood-sucking insects, which provides reliable protection for a long time, but use it with caution:
The smoke contains toxic substances that can negatively affect your well-being. If the spiral is used indoors, the latter must have good ventilation.- The effect of the spiral can be significantly reduced if it is windy outside.
- The spiral should be placed at least 1 meter away from people, animals and food, and if it comes into contact with the skin, immediately wash the affected area with warm water and soap.
- It is not recommended to use the spiral in the presence of people prone to allergic reactions and respiratory diseases, and it is forbidden if small children, pregnant and lactating women are in the range of the device.
- Care should be taken to ensure that flammable materials, things and objects are not near the smoldering spiral.
