As in the first part, the game always takes place at night. And the city still lacks police, so as not to stop you from doing the full passage of the "NFS Underground 2". Most of the time we spend on racing, some more - on trips from one place of arrival to another. We decided not to import the fast travel function into the game. Yes, and too much fun to cut through the night Bayview. So that you don’t get tired of driving, the developers introduced a large number of opportunities to “pump” your car into the game, so you will sit for hours and pick up a new spoiler and neon lights for your Nissan.

If you have a cheap Ford Focus, and the enemy drives a charged Subaru Impreza, then even with very straight arms, winning this race will be unrealistic. You simply do not have enough speed.
All the cars in the game are copied from real prototypes and have the same names (unlike the GTA series of games, for example). The main thing that catches your eye is the unrealistic characteristics of cars. But you completely forget about it thanks to a decent schedule (and the game is already fifteen years old) and a realistic appearance. Honda Civic, Nissan Skyline, Mitsubishi-Eclipse - all these models are now associated primarily with fond memories of the passage of the NFS Underground 2.
More luxurious cars are more expensive and do not open immediately to keep interest in the game and balance.
Tuning
The game has two categories of tuning: internal and external. The first is to improve the rideability of the car. In appearance, they are usually invisible, but they affect the characteristics of the car, such as speed, acceleration, handling, etc. You can improve the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and much more.
