Proper nutrition of a nursing mother

Any mother knows about the benefits of breastfeeding. From the first minutes of birth, even in the birth hall, the baby is applied to the mother's breast. Now, the nutrition of the nursing mother plays a major role in the well-being, calmness and health of the baby.

The question of proper nutrition during this period arises from the first day spent in the hospital. Even the hospital menu itself quite often includes products that are not desirable for consumption during feeding. Dee and relatives are in a hurry to pamper the young mommy delicious.

Why does proper nutrition of a nursing mother, its balance, matter? The main task of breastfeeding is to provide the baby with the necessary nutrients. And even, most likely not a child, namely mother herself. So the body of a young mother is arranged so that the child receives reserves from her resources, as a result, the mother herself may simply not be enough.

Some groups of products can cause the baby troubles with the digestive system, gastrointestinal tract: colic, constipation, diarrhea. For others, a reaction will follow - an allergy. A colic can be caused by a mother consuming foods that cause increased gas production . These are potatoes cabbage, peas, grapes milk, beans, bread, zucchini, grapes, eggplant, green apples.

In order to avoid constipation of the baby, the food of the nursing mother should not contain a lot of different types of pastries, bread and potatoes. Quite a few products can cause diathesis and an allergic reaction and diathesis. These are citrus fruits, red vegetables and fruits, berries, tropical fruits, smoked meats, eggs, crayfish, crabs, cow's milk, honey. Various spices, garlic, onions, any spicy dishes will change the taste of breast milk. Babies react quite sharply to a change in taste, which can lead to the rejection of breast milk.





You should exclude from the mom's menu products containing various chemicals, dyes, preservatives. Be sure to ban alcohol. From drinks completely eliminate carbonated.

Now, what should be included in the daily nutrition of a nursing mother.

- cereals (buckwheat, corn, oat, millet);

- vegetables, fruits in absolutely any form. This is the main source of vitamins;

- sources of fat (various oils);

- dairy products, cottage cheese, cheese. Cheeses and cottage cheese have a lot of healthy calcium, which is simply necessary for a nursing mother. The lack of this important element will lead to severe hair loss, poor condition of the mother’s teeth, delamination of the nails and their fragility;

- bread in moderation;

- on the recommendation of doctors, special vitamin-mineral complexes developed specifically for use in breastfeeding are used.

The nutrition of a nursing mother is quite limited, but this is only for the benefit of the baby. Gradually, the prohibitions will disappear and the usual diet will return. The most difficult in terms of nutrition are the first days in the hospital. Even an ordinary apple juice may cause an allergic reaction. Relatives and husband should be asked to bring freshly cooked buckwheat or oatmeal, boiled lean meat and necessarily cheese. For normal milk production, drink at least two liters of liquid, as milk arrives, the amount decreases.

After discharge, the feeding regimen of the nursing mother changes, vegetables and fruits are gradually added, after another week, fish and cottage cheese are added. By the end of the first month of the baby's life, potatoes and eggs are introduced into the diet. Then gradually all other products are added to the menu, and the child’s reaction is monitored, if it did not follow, then you can safely eat this product.
