A-Data flash drive recovery: easy ways to recover data, tips and tricks

A-DATA USB drives on the world market appeared relatively recently, but have already managed to gain popularity among many users of such devices, due to their high reliability. Unfortunately, they are not immune from the appearance of all kinds of failures and errors, which often lead to the failure of microcontrollers and the loss of important information. Next, we’ll look at a few simple ways to recover a flash drive from this particular manufacturer, although the proposed options (except for one of the following) can be applied to most devices of this class known today.

Usage options for A-DATA USB drives for recovery

If we talk about restoring efficiency or information, covering the issue in full, it is worth noting that A-DATA flash drives, like any other USB drives, can be used in two ways: either they can be used to restore a stationary operating system installed on a computer or laptop, or restore the devices themselves after some critical malfunctions or even viral exposure. We will dwell briefly on actions with Windows in terms of bringing the system to a working state, and we will focus on the methods that allow you to restore the drives themselves and the information that could be stored on them, but was damaged or deleted due to failures.

A brief description of recovering Windows from a flash drive

As for the recovery of Windows-systems when it is impossible to start them in any of the known modes, as well as in case of rollback errors, each user should know such actions.

Creating a bootable flash drive in Rufus

They consist of several simple steps:

  • loading the system image;
  • creating a bootable flash drive from the downloaded image (for example, in the Rufus program);
  • installing a flash drive as the first device to boot into the BIOS;
  • start from the carrier;
  • restore startup or the entire system;
  • if recovery is not possible, check system files via the command line (sfc / scannow), check or overwrite the bootloader (Bootrec.exe toolkit with additional attributes), use other test tools of the console or third-party programs that have their own bootloaders, to test the hard drive, RAM etc.

But, since we are talking specifically about flash drives, the performance of which is disrupted due to some kind of malfunctions, now we will dwell in detail on a few simple solutions that are designed specifically for A-DATA devices. Recovery flash drives after a critical violation in the work should begin with the described program. It must first be downloaded from the manufacturer’s official website.

Download A-DATA flash drive recovery utility

Please note that a lot of hieroglyphs will be shown on the page. This applies to the clause of the license agreement, so it can be safely noted. Next, just enter your email address, country, preferred language and click the download button.

Enter the serial number of the flash drive

If you already have a registered account, you can log in using it (for example, through the social network Facebook with the verification code from the image) and enter the special serial number of the product (if you have questions, you can use the links to examples). Upon completion of these steps, the download will be performed, and the application file will only have to be unzipped and launched.

In the interface of the utility for recovering the A-DATA flash drive, no special actions need to be taken. Here it is only necessary to affirmatively answer the question about the immediate start of drive repair and wait for the restoration process to complete.

Note: the serial number can be found directly on the USB port of the drive.

Media Recovery in A-DATA USB Flash Disk Utility

Here is another official utility, which, according to many experts and ordinary users, works no worse than the previous one, and, as already understood, is intended exclusively for devices of this manufacturer (although, by and large, it can be used with equal success for other similar devices). This program, unlike other similar applications, is mainly focused on fixing problems regarding the inability to determine or use the full volume of the drive.

A-DATA USB Flash Disk Utility

To restore an A-DATA flash drive or any other device in the application, go to the Partition tab, set the Volume Disk slider (Security Disk Size) to the extreme right position corresponding to the maximum, and press the Partition start button. Then you have to agree that all data will be destroyed. There is nothing wrong with this, because you can restore them even after formatting. That is, files can be deleted. Restoring a flash drive, or rather, its full size, does not particularly affect this. We will dwell on the recovery of the files themselves deleted during the formatting process separately, but for now we will consider another cardinal solution.

MPTool microcontroller recovery application

Finally, the recovery of the A-DATA flash drive can be done using a utility designed to fix problems with the Prolific PL-2528 microcontrollers. In theory, after starting the program, the drive will be detected automatically.

MPTool program

If this does not happen, click the Detect button (it may take 5-6 clicks until the start button becomes active). Next, you just need to start formatting and wait for the process to finish.

Note: if the flash drive is not detected at all, it is quite possible that the device is simply incompatible with the program. In this case, try to enter the settings (Setting button), if the password is required, enter mp2528admin, go to the Others tab, in the format type set SuperFloppy, then click the Apply and Exit buttons, and then repeat the formatting described above.

Data Recovery in DiskDigger

Now let's look at methods for recovering lost information. Some experts recommend using the small DiskDigger utility (it is paid, but you can use the trial period). This is not to say that it is intended exclusively for flash drives. With its help, you can try to find deleted or lost files on hard drives.

File Recovery in DiskDigger

Recovering content deleted from a flash drive is quite simple. In the application, simply select your media, mark the desired file types or specify all possible formats, and then save the detected objects.

Note: when scanning, it is best to use not the standard search, but the item "Dig even deeper ...".

Utility for searching and recovering deleted R-Studio files

However, despite the original name, the previous program somewhat resembles the Recuva utility, so do not have any special illusions about it. It is best believed to recover files deleted from a flash drive in R-Studio. It is the most powerful of all known tools of this type, moreover, it is completely easy to use.

R-Studio program

Here, as usual, you need to select the drive, click the start button for the scan, and save the search results in any convenient place on your hard drive or external device. It is especially worth noting that the probability of finding and recovering deleted files is so great that very often this application can be used even if the medium has been formatted, and not even in a quick way, but with full formatting.

Low level media formatting and other methods

It remains to add that if none of the above methods has given the desired result, you can use the popular HDD LLFT program as the most recent solution, which will perform low-level formatting and restore access to any device.

If you wish, you can independently determine the identifiers of the flash drive (for example, using the ChipGenius program), and then find the necessary firmware for microcontrollers from them and try to restore your device. But such a technique is common, so sometimes it is much easier to use "native" software products that are focused specifically on A-DATA devices.
