Types of education

Education is a social factor in the development of personality. Modern science has proved that various types of education, closely related to the social environment, contribute to the development of social behavior programs and the formation of a person’s personality.

The concept of “upbringing” refers to the leaders in modern pedagogy; it has a broad and narrow meaning.

In a broad sense, it is a social phenomenon of the impact of society on a person in the process of its development. From this point of view, upbringing is actually equated with socialization, representing a specific process of forming the intellect, spiritual and physical forces of the individual, preparing it for active interaction with society, for work.

In the narrow sense, upbringing is a specially organized, purposeful activity of pupils and teachers, which seeks to implement educational goals. Pedagogical activity in this case is called educational work.

Types of education

Among modern scientists, there are two points of view on education. According to the first, it helps to accelerate the development of the personality, according to the second, it slows down. Adherents of the first position believe that spontaneous development processes are not enough, so an intensive pedagogical influence aimed at accelerating is necessary. Those who hold the second position believe that the child’s childhood is untouchable, and there is no need to resort to the artificial acceleration of adulthood, using various types of pedagogy. In their opinion, the makings that determine the individuality of a person should mature in him naturally.

The purposeful nature of education is the leading factor in its impact on personality formation: it is systematic and should be based on a large cultural material. The provision of specially organized educational work is the purposeful management of the personality development process. This activity is carried out in special educational institutions by educators - people trained for this, who are able to distinguish between types of education and organize the process correctly. L. S. Vygotsky believed that the teacher should act only as the organizer of the social educational environment, the regulator and controller of the interaction of each student with this environment.

Types of education are classified. There are several classifications:

  1. The most generalized include moral, mental, physical and labor education.
  2. If we talk about the direction of the process, we can distinguish political, civil, aesthetic, international, legal, economic, environmental.
  3. Also, education is divided on the basis of institutions and can be family, school, extracurricular and religious. Moreover, the types of family education also have their own classification.
  4. Also, upbringing is distinguished by the style of relations between the teacher and the student, divided into free, liberal, democratic and authoritarian.

What is the meaning of parenting?

The education system was formed under the influence of the historical development of mankind, it should help children learn certain moral norms, abilities, spiritual guidelines that are characteristic of a particular society.

The formation of the human personality suggests that society will carry out a constant and consciously organized improvement of the educational system, overcome stagnant, traditional and spontaneous forms. This is impossible without knowledge of the psychological and pedagogical laws of personality development, otherwise a manipulative effect on the formation of the personality of each individual person may take place.
