How to set the default printer? Two ways to accomplish a task

A printer is a pretty useful device. With it, you can quickly print the necessary documents. However, when buying new equipment, many users have problems connecting it. This article will explain how to set up the default printer so that it immediately feeds the selected documents to print. Also at the end of the article will be described how to configure it in the 1C program.

How to set the default printer in Windows 10

This manual will be most relevant for users with multiple devices for printing documents. It is important to select the default printer before starting the printer so that the document interacts with the device that you need.

Method 1: Via the options menu

In Windows 10, a new settings window appeared, the first method that allows you to set the default printer will interact with it:

1. Open the Start menu.
2. In the lower left corner, click on the "Options" button.
3. In the menu that appears, select "Devices".
4. In the sidebar, go to the "Printers and Scanners" section.
5. From the list of all printers found, select the one you need and click on the "Management" button.
6. In the new window, click on the "Use as default" button.

Immediately after that, the selected device will be used automatically when printing documents. This was the first way to set the default printer, but there is also a second.

Method 2: Via the "Control Panel"

"Control Panel" is in every Windows, so this guide can be considered universal:

1. Search the system with the words "Control Panel."
2. In the results, run the element of the same name.
3. In the window that appears, click on the line "Devices and Printers".
4. A window opens with a list of all devices, select the desired one and click on it with RMB.
5. From the list, select "Use by default."

Now you know two ways at once that allow you to set a default printer. This should be enough to cope with the task.

How to set the default printer in 1C

If you often use the 1C database, then periodically you most likely have to submit reports for printing. To facilitate this process, you must configure the device in the application itself. To do this, follow these instructions:

1. Run the program and open its menu by clicking on the "File" button.
2. In the list that appears, select "Print."
3. If you are using multiple printers at the same time for printing, then select the one you want.
4. Select "Printing Preferences" in the window.
5. The corresponding menu will appear, in which you immediately need to go to the "Settings" tab.
6. Among all the parameters, first of all, select the sheet orientation (horizontal or vertical), print order and total number of pages.
7. Go to the "Location" tab and determine the placement of the text and all additional elements on the sheet.
8. Go to the Paper / Quality tab and first select the tray to print. Review all other parameters and set the switch to the desired position. Then click OK to apply the changes.
9. If during the editing of the parameters you notice any flaws in the document, they can be corrected by going to the "Edit" mode.

This completes the print setup for 1C, you just have to click the "Print" button.
