The Land Collection in Dragon Age: Origins is a story quest and one of the most important events in the game. This meeting addresses the political issues of Ferelden. According to the quest, the player needs to try to enlist the support of the nobility and choose the ruler of the country. Most often, a meeting cannot do without fights and fights. How to get the support of the nobles and avoid unnecessary battles?
Additional tasks
After collecting all the allies, story quests will lead the Gray Guard to Denerim, where the Assembly of Lands will take place. To successfully complete the task and get the maximum votes at the Assembly of Lands in Dragon Age: Origins, you must first complete the following quests.
- “Save the Queen” is the main quest. During the quest, the Sentinel must save Queen Anora from Earl Denerim's house. At the end of the quest, you can talk with the queen about the upcoming meeting.
- "In captivity!" - the quest will begin if, in the previous task, surrender or lose to Sir Courten. In the story, the Guard enters Fort Dracon (himself or with Alistair), where he must wait for the execution. You can escape from captivity on your own or after waiting for help from the allies.
- “The Noble Under Torture” is a side quest that you can get by going down the dungeon while completing the quest “Save the Queen”. After freeing Oswin, talk to his father, Bann Sigard. Bann will present the Guard with a reward and vote for him at the Meeting.
- The Missing Templar is a secondary quest that begins in the dungeon of Earl Denerim's estate. According to the quest, the templar Irminrik will ask the hero to take the ring to his sister Alfstanna. If the mission is completed, she will vote for the Sentinels at the Assembly of Lands in Dragon Age: Origins.
- “Riots in elfinage” - a plot quest, which you need to understand what is happening in elfinage. During the investigation, the Sentinel will find out that the elves are taken into slavery, and will be able to tell about it at the Meeting.
- The Raven Trial is a series of quests that can be obtained in various ways. In addition to the award, after their completion the hero will receive an additional voice at the Meeting.
Before the meeting begins, all tasks must be completed, since it will not be possible to return back, and be sure to talk to Anora, since her voice is extremely important.
Meeting with Sir Coutren
Before you enter the palace on the mission of “Meeting the Lands” in Dragon Age: Origins, Sir Courten will block your path (assuming she survived the quest “Save the Queen”). With it you can fight or persuade to let you through. This time it’s easier to beat Courten than on Earl’s estate, and if you win, you’ll get a good sword. If you solve the issue peacefully, the player will receive 250 experience points.
Voting
The Land Collection in Dragon Age: Origins is a kind of vote. The wealthier and more nobleman at this event, the more important his voice. For a relatively "peaceful" passage of the "Assembly of Lands" in Dragon Age: Origins you need to get as many votes as possible. Otherwise, you will have to not only fight Logain, but also fight back from his guard.
For the nobles to vote for you:
- Do not mention that Logain threw Kaylan to death, since there is no way to prove it;
- try to convince Loghain that the real enemy is Pestilence, not Orleans;
- if you saved Oswin from the quest, then tell about Howe's dungeons;
- tell the Assembly about the slave trade in elfinage;
- complete the “Missing Templar” task, give your sister the ring of Irminric, and you can mention the attempt on Earl Eamon;
- by freeing Vaughan, you will receive an additional voice;
- another nobleman will support you if all the Ravens tasks have been completed;
- promise Anora the support of her power, and she will stand by your side.
If you tell Anore that you support Alistair, or that Logain must answer for what you did, then she will betray you at the Meeting. Also, Anora will not support Starge, if she does not talk to her at all.
By default, one of the votes will still be cast for Logain and one for the Sentinels.
After all conversations, voting will begin. As a result, you can get such options at the “Land Collection” in Dragon Age: Origins:
- if you lose the vote, a battle will begin with Logain and his guard. At the height of the battle, the priestess will intervene and offer to resolve the dispute with a duel;
- if you win the Meeting, Logain will immediately demand a duel.
Duel
Before starting a duel, you can choose which of the nearby allies will fight. If you have a dog with you, then you can’t choose it. It is also important to know that Alistair will not spare Logain in a duel and will deprive you of some options for the development of the plot.
The easiest way to deal with Logain is in heavy armor with a shield. The shield makes the player virtually immune to rollover, and heavy armor allows you to survive the strong damage of the enemy.
Winning a duel with a mage is also quite simple. He can easily freeze Logain and inflict damage with any spell from his arsenal.
For other classes, the battle is a little more difficult, but everything will depend on the chosen abilities, equipment and difficulty level.
The choice of ruler
After the duel is over, you have to decide what to do with Logain (if Alistair does not kill him) and choose who will rule the country. This decision will be the end of the quest. The options available for Dragon Age: Origins to complete the Land Meeting are as follows.
- You can spare Logain and offer him to become a Gray Guard. In this case, Alistair will be very angry, but he can be persuaded to become king if he is toughened. There is also the option that he will begin to rule with Anora, if you have resolved this issue before the Assembly of Lands. In any case, Alistair will leave the squad and, if he does not accept the crown, will leave Ferelden or be executed by Anora.
- If you kill Logain, then Anor will not want to marry Alistair or Kusland the man.
- If Anora is chosen as the queen, then she will immediately demand that Alistair renounce claims to the throne, which he will only be glad about.
- By marrying Anor, Alistair will go with you to fight Archidemon.
- If Alistair becomes king, then he will remain with the Sentinel before defeating Mor, and he will appoint Earl Eamon as his regent. Anor is locked in the tower, because she does not want to recognize Alistair as king.
- A Kusland woman can be made a queen even without a romantic relationship with Alistair, but the level of persuasion and friendship should be high.
Effects
Your decision will affect not only the future plot of Dragon Age: Origins, but also some of the events in the following parts. So, in Dragon Age 2 it will be possible to meet the drinking Alistair in the tavern, if he at one time leaves the Gray Guard and leaves Verelden. If Alistair marries Anor, then the hero of the second part of the game will be able to get the quest "King Alistair" and meet with the king.
