Barnacle Bay is a city in The Sims 3. It was created by official developers of the game. Barnacle Bay is not included in the base game or add-ons. You can purchase it online at The Sims 3 Store.
Barnacle Bay is an island city in the Simwan Sea. Once upon a time, pirates, fishermen, artists - romantics, seeking a better life, settled on its land. Their descendants, modern residents of Barnacle Bay, remember the past and are proud of their heritage.
Landscape
In Barnacle Bay, rocky cliffs flow smoothly into a flat sandy beach. There are four beaches in the city where you can spend your time in different ways. The central promenade is equipped with everything necessary for fun and relaxation, but privacy lovers will also find a place to their liking: they have at their disposal "Land Rat Beach", "Founders Beach" and "Smuggler's Beach".
Locals love camping and fishing, and they have the opportunity to do both. Parks of different sizes are scattered along Barnacle Bay. As well as fishing areas: ponds, lakes and even a waterfall.
Barnacle Bay consists of several islands. One of them is connected to the main roads and the bridge, but you can only reach the others by swimming.
Architecture
The city center looks quite modern: there are high-rise buildings and sparkling signs. The open areas are decorated in a marine style, but most of the "rabbit holes" the player could already see in Sunset Valley.
The new closed establishment that came into play with the town is the Sea Smoked Meal diner, stylized as a pirate ship. Despite its name, the building is a restaurant in its type, and appropriate interactions are available with it. Food in Sea Smoked meats is tastier and more expensive than usual. The diner can be visited with a company or a couple; at the entrance, the sims will change into official clothes.
Palm trees are planted on the beaches and in the city center, flower beds are full of flowers. Open public areas and residential buildings were built using thematic objects, including portholes and marine sculptures.
You can find a secret site in Barnacle Bay. A mysterious staircase hidden among the plants will lead you underground, and you will find yourself in the interweaving of gloomy stone corridors. Torches sprinkle on the walls, old barrels with mysterious contents stand in the corners - once upon a time, pirates hid their treasures here.
Residents
The inhabitants of Barnacle Bay are as special as their town. They love pirate costumes: they can be seen on game and non-game sims in the city. Their life is still closely connected with the sea, and the "fisherman" is a character trait popular with local Sims.
Some families in Barnacle Bay are associated with characters in other cities, while others are even familiar to us in other parts of The Sims.
You can meet Gongadze sisters in the city - Dina and Nina. The sisters' skills are higher than they were in Sims 2: most likely, they moved to Barnacle Bay from Pleasantview (Novoselsk) and have already laid eyes on the new cavalier. Their roommate Louise Libros, who loved to spend time reading a book before meeting her sisters, can change under the influence of her neighbors.
The Gilskarbo family, consisting of a single mother Alice and her daughter Celeste, has relatives (ancestors?) In Monte Vista.
Game Features
There may be gardening problems in the town. You can find rare species of fish and metals in Barnacle Bay, but it is impossible to find the seeds of the highest level.
This can be fixed using the codes:
- In city change mode, go to any public site near which you want to find rare seeds.
- Call the console by simultaneously pressing the keys Ctrl + Shift + C.
- Enter the developer code TestingCheatsEnabled true.
- Go into purchase mode and enter another code: buydebug.
- A button with a question mark appears, standing separately. When you click on it, a tab with many secret items will open. Among them, you need to find a rare seed generator and install it on the site.
With Barnacle Bay in "The Sims 3" come clothing and furniture in a marine style, but there are no new interactions. No pirated gameplay: no profession, action, or character trait related to piracy appears in the game. Dressed as pirates, Sims speak Simlish with standard voices and are busy in regular careers.
As in other early-leaving towns, beach sites are located at a short distance from the coastline.
The sea is not deep enough to establish diving sites that came into play with the Paradise Islands expansion.
Barnacle Bay was released before the addition of "Seasons" and entered the number of towns for which the developers created a unique section of the seasonal holiday. The seasonal holiday site is the Raven Nest campground.
In a secret site you can really find treasures. But do not expect an impressive amount of simoleons: usually these are toys and other little things.
