Performance

We will evaluate the performance of the Intel Celeron 847 CPU using the example of the MSI C847IS - P33 motherboard. It is designed to build compact PCs in a Mini-ITX package. The competitors of the hero of this review were E - 350 from AMD (AsRock E350M1 motherboard), ATOM D2700 (Intel D2700DC) and Celeron G1610 (Z77IA-E53 from MSI). The last two CPU models are Intel devices.

At the first stage, testing was carried out in the PCMark'7 package. In this case, computing systems were able to produce the following results:

  1. Celeron G1610 - 3429.
  2. Celeron 847 - 2164.
  3. AMD E-350 - 1613.
  4. ATOM D2700 - 1463.

The G1610 microprocessor has higher clock speeds and the most advanced architecture, which is why it shows the highest result. The hero of this review lags significantly behind him. Its architecture is identical with the leader of this test, but the frequencies are reduced and energy efficiency is improved. This is due to its lag. But the E-350 and D2700 are hopelessly behind. They have a small cache and outdated architecture.

The next test was conducted in Photoshop CS5. Within its framework, 4 pictures were processed in a resolution of 10 megapixels. The following time was taken in seconds to complete this operation:

  1. Celeron G1610 - 152.2.
  2. Celeron 847 - 377.6.
  3. ATOM D2700 - 490.7.
  4. AMD E-350 - 544.7.

The winner has not changed - G1610, due to the higher frequency of his work. The second place is occupied by an energy-efficient representative of this Celeron 847 series. Outsiders have switched places, but they have a comparable result.

Relevance and reviews

The Intel Celeron 847 is still able to cope with the initially assigned tasks, so it is too early for owners of such computers to think about upgrading and updating, but it is no longer advisable to buy a new PC based on such a CPU. There are more modern similar solutions.
