The NVidia GeForce 7300 GS graphics accelerator was introduced in 2006. The main scope of its application is entry-level personal computers. That is, such systems whose performance is higher than the interned graphics cards, but lower than the middle class accelerators. Such an adapter allowed you to run almost any application of this class at the time of the start of sales of the device, but the picture quality was very, very modest.

It was impractical to equip an office PC with such an accelerator for economic reasons. It was quite expensive. At the same time, its computing resources under this operating mode were not fully loaded. It was impossible to assemble high-performance computers on its basis for the reason that it could not provide a sufficient level of speed.

  3. Actually, the accelerator itself.
  4. Coupon with warranty obligations of the manufacturer. The validity of the latter was one year.

The NVidia GeForce 7300 GS features emphasize that it is based on a silicon processor, code-named G72. This chip was manufactured at 90 nm standards and included 112 million transistors. This chip has 4 pixel conveyors. The same number of TMUs. But the number of vertex conveyors is reduced to 3 pieces. All of these elements included in the GPU worked at a fixed frequency of 550 MHz.

The memory subsystem of this device is aimed at the use of DDR2 or DDR3 chips. As in the first case, and in the second, the frequency of RAM should be 400 MHz. Again, it is preferable to use the first type of memory in this discrete graphic device, but since this accelerator belonged to the entry-level niche by the manufacturer, it was mainly equipped with DDR2-format microcircuits. This allowed to slightly reduce the final cost of the adapter. The RAM connection bus has a modest capacity of 64 bits. The recommended amount of RAM in this case is 256 MB.

A typical representative of entry-level graphics cards in 2006 was the NVidia GeForce 7300 GS. He had everything he needed to solve entry-level problems. Low speed allowed to launch toys of that time at very modest quality. At the same time, the price tag of the accelerator was quite democratic. Ultimately, all this led to the fact that video cards of this model in this segment of computer components were widely used. Such accelerators can now be found in obsolete computers. They still continue to be actively exploited so far. Only now their specialization is office programs.
